What Was Nadungamuwa Raja Cause of Death?
The death of an elephant that survived the tsunami, Nadungamuwa, who was one among several other elephants to be rescued by Indian officials, was reported this year, and it was later found that he died in June due to exhaustion of working in his last rites. His age is estimated to be 65 years. The cause of his death is the fact that elephant herds were the only ones to survive the tsunami that killed thousands of people and destroyed all their structures in the South Indian states. How Did Nadungamuwa Raja Die?
Nadungamuwa Raja, the elephant from Sri Lanka has died at age of 65 years. Born in 1953, Nadungamuwa Raja was the Chundanmekki in the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. According to famous elephant experts who passed away in 2017, Nadungamuwa Raja lived a long and fruitful life which is less common among elephants. Nadungamuwa Raja was the oldest elephant in the world who passed away at Sri Lanka’s Mihintale National Park on March 4, 2018. He was a famous resident of the park, who had lived there for decades. Leota, Nadungamuwa Raja’s surviving partner will live on for two more years in the park. Many of you may have heard of Nadungamuwa Raja, the elephant whom Sri Lankans feared during his years as a wild elephant in Sri Lanka. The elephant gave many sleepless nights to people living in his territory when he was wild and is known to have destroyed many houses and paddy fields in Southern Sri Lanka.
