On the 24th of October 2019, Donnell was going along with his lorry with a crane attached and failed to notice the failed part of his lorry and hit Chloe accidentally. Although it was accidental, Donnell was not accepting his crime. Both Donnell and Chloe’s families were bursting into tears because of the trials and they were settled with the justice of the trials. As per the sources, he stayed overnight on the day of the accident and dropped stabilizing legs but it came out that he was not trained to do so. While the trials were ongoing Donnell said that he did not extend or touch the controls of Stabilizers which was untrue because it was seen clearly that the yellow sign was blinking.

One of the witnesses who saw the accident happening said that he saw a warning sign blinking seconds before the collision occurred. One report of Chloe suggests that she went through multiple fractures and her back as well was hit badly. Donnell was disqualified from driving earlier as well, and now he is getting convicted because of the crime he committed. Although many were satisfied with the justification, many people were not satisfied and they even said that the jury’s decision was not serious enough to charge the accused. Judges said after the trials that the accused was driving dangerously which resulted in the accident. Until the trials were ongoing the accused was held captive and remained in custody.

Chloe’s family members took a long and relieved breath and said that their daughter was a beautiful soul, sensitive, funny and much-loved person. They added that Chloe was loved and cherished not only by the family members but also by her friends and her colleagues as well. Donnell on the day of the accident was returning back to Oldmeldrum from Skye when Chloe was struck by his lorry. After a lot of conviction, Donnell agreed that he did not pull the stabilizer but if he would have seen the yellow warning and studied about it, Chloe would have been saved by him.
